NBC TOTAL Basketball Camp at Prairie College in Three Hills, Alberta draws elite high school athletes from all over Western Canada. This 5-day, premier basketball camp is the choice for talented, older players who have been to other camps and are ready for a challenge. All of the coaches at NBC TOTAL are former or current post-secondary players, or are high-level NBC Camp coaches that have great experience, energy and skill.

At camp, campers receive training in leadership, strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports psychology and advanced basketball coaching. The culmination of camp occurs when several college coaches visit, looking to recruit campers, and a tournament where campers play against college teams. Over the last several years, NBC TOTAL hosted coaches and/or teams from Mount Royal University, Olds College, St. Mary's University, The University of Calgary, Briercrest College, Prairie College, Red Deer College and Ambrose University; and the number of schools continues to grow.

NBC Boys TOTAL Basketball Camp - $1,150 overnight/$1,050 extended day
Dates: August 11-15, 2024 | Age Group: Boys ages 15-19

NBC Girls TOTAL Basketball Camp - $1,099 overnight/$999 extended day
Dates: August 18-22, 2024 | Age Group: Girls ages 15-19

OVERNIGHT CAMPER INFORMATION

Daily Times for Overnight & Extended Day: First day check-in begins at 12:30pm for overnight and extended day campers. Extended Day times from 9:00am-9:00pm daily and end on the final day in the afternoon with the overnight campers, 4pm. Extended day is only recommended for athletes who live really close to campus since camp has very long days.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPER SCHEDULE

First day: 12:30pm-9:00pm. Dinner provided.
Middle days: 9:00am-9:00pm. Lunch and dinner provided.
Last day: 9:00am-4:00pm. Lunch provided.

Extended day campers DO NOT sleep on campus or eat breakfast on campus.

ROOMMATES & HOUSING

Roommates for this site need to be requested at least two weeks before camp begins. If you have no preference, we will match you with a camper of the same gender and similar age. Contact nbc@nbccamps.com if you need to add a roommate request.
Housing - The information below is subject to change each year.
Air conditioning: varies - campers are encouraged to bring a fan.
Lost Key Fee: Yes
Campers per room: usually 2
Bathrooms: Campers share a common bathroom
Supervision: boys and girls are separated into different dorms or different floors with coaches of the same gender staying in the dorms for supervision.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own ball (clearly labeled with their name).
Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival and meals.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

ABOUT THE CAMPUS

Rick Down Athletic Centre (RDAC) The RDAC is a hub of sports and recreation. This multi-purpose facility is the home of Prairie Pilots Athletics, Prairie's intramural program, and health and wellness facilities. It includes a centre feature court as well as three individual courts that can be configured for basketball, volleyball, futsal (indoor soccer), racquet sports, and a variety of other court-based sports. It also houses a rock-climbing wall, fitness equipment, flexible seating for 1000 spectators, concessions, and full change room facilities.

Camp Director Shawn Stetson

Shawn is the President of NBC Camps and has directed camps and clinics for over 20 years. He has overseen the expansion of NBC Camps into Canada as well as several other countries around the world. A former basketball player at the University of Calgary in Canada, Shawn is passionate about helping young athletes discover how to be all that God created them to be.

Ross is one of the best basketball players to come out of Alberta in the last 20 years. He was a superstar at the University of Calgary before he went overseas, winning 2 National Championships as a pro basketball player in the Holland.
