Sports Psychology Training Focus
Night One: Pure Impact
Recognize what impact you have on and off the court. How does the game change when you are in? Discover ways to maximize your impact on the court and in life. Learn how to recognize and eliminate habits which prevent you from having the best impact.
Night Two: Pure Integrity
Integrity comes from the root word meaning complete or entire. Pure integrity for an athlete means dedication to training, discipline to strive to be his or her best, and a decision to live and play at the highest possible level. Willingness to notice ways we compromise our character on and off the court, as well as action steps to be a player and person of integrity, are crucial for us in our ability to develop confidence, self-discipline and mental toughness.
Night Three: Pure Insight
The ability to recognize what is going wrong and accurately make corrections is a crucial skill in sports and in life. Often we repeat the same mistakes hoping for a different outcome. An athlete with pure insight (mental vision) can see what needs correcting and what to do to fix it. We focus on developing pure insight in order to develop better relationships with our teams and our families. The skills we learn when improving our most important team, the family, train us for leadership on the court.
Night Four: Pure Inspiration
Inspiration is another description for air moving in and out of our lungs. It is what gives us life, what fills us with the strength and energy to be alive. Have you ever seen someone on the court going through the plays but they look dead? They are just going through the motions. How about in life? What is your greatest source of inspiration? What motives you to play alive, to live with power and freedom? Discover what robs you of your inspiration; learn how to inspire others on your team to play their best. AT NBC Camps, we open a conversation about spiritual faith, and specifically a consideration of a relationship with God through faith in Christ. We believe spiritual faith is a key component to becoming the very best athlete you can be. We know that spiritual faith can be a volatile topic for many people. Being silent about what we believe to be vital to living to our best ability is disingenuous. Similarly, forcing people to believe what we believe is abuse. We desire to talk about faith with humility and respect for people of all races and creeds. At NBC Camps, we hope people will develop autonomy about what they personally believe, and that their approach to life and to others, regardless of faith, will be one of strength, dignity, care, love, power and inspiration.
