Never Quit
Life may be throwing you a curve ball right now. You may be wanting to throw in the towel and give up. But life is full of examples of people getting almost to the finish line and quitting. Research on follow-through in the work world has found the majority of people quit at the 90% mark. They go almost the full way, and stop.
When Jeff Blatnick was a boy, only one person from the U.S. had ever won Olympic Gold in wrestling. Jeff dreamed his whole life of being the next winner. In 1980, he made the Olympic team and was predicted to win gold. That year the Olympics were boycotted and Jim saw his dreams move out of reach. He began to train again but was soon diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. Jeff underwent radiation and surgery to remove his spleen and appendix. Finally, the cancer moved into remission. Much time had been lost and few doubted he had the strength to make the Olympic team let alone have a chance to win a metal. In 1984, with tears streaming down his face, Jeff fell to the mat and clasped his hands over his head after winning Olympic goal.
What do you need to finish?
What do you need to follow through all the way to the end, no matter the cost or the odds?
Will you be known as a person who never quits?
What would be the consequence if you quit?
What would be the benefit/ reward if you follow-through?
Who would be affected if I quit and how would it affect them?
If it is dark in your life right now, keep running. The light is just ahead.
"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strenght, they shall mount of on wings as eagles, they shall run and not grow weary they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Teach me Lord to follow-through with faith.
