NBC VOLLEYBALL IS RED HOT
NBC Camps is excited to announce the following changes in the Volleyball Program and is anticipating the largest summer for Volleyball in its history.
Doris Norris has accepted the position of NBC Volleyball Administrator/Director. Also joining the NBC Volleyball “team” is Christy Swagerty, who will serve as NBC Volleyball Coaching Director.
Doris has worked the past three years as an assistant to former Volleyball Director, Jamie Smart, who has resigned to spend more time with family and to pursue her Masters Degree in Education while also teaching full-time and coaching. Jamie and her husband Josh will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to interact with them in their roles with NBC Camps Volleyball.
In addition to her work with NBC, Doris is the Director and Co-Founder of the Sideout Volleyball Club in Spokane. She has extensive club coaching experience in addition to her many administrative duties in running Sideout. Doris was a three sport athlete in high school and a four-year starter on the Whitworth University volleyball team. During college she was selected to the All-Conference and All-Region volleyball squads and her teams were recently inducted into the Whitworth University Heritage Gallery Hall of Fame.
Christy Swagerty has been involved with NBC Camps since she was thirteen years old. She lettered in both volleyball and basketball in high school and continued her athletic career in volleyball at The Master's College, an NAIA Division 1 school in North Los Angeles. As the captain and setter of her team, she achieved Scholar-Athlete recognition and set the career assist record at her school in her final season. Swagerty served as an assistant coach for her high school volleyball and basketball programs. She has also coached 3 years of club volleyball with Point West Mizuno, and at NBC Camps since 2003. Her passion lies in giving young women the opportunity to be better volleyball players, better daughters, and better people. "I am thrilled to be taking a larger role with NBC Volleyball. It has been my dream to lead the volleyball camp forward in its identity as a part of the NBC family and a program to enhance the sport of volleyball across the nation."
Doris and Christy are excited to team together to lead the NBC Volleyball program and hope to see you at a Camp next summer!
