About the Campus
Whitworth University's 200-acre campus of red brick buildings
and tall pines offers a beautiful, inviting and secure environment. Campers
will be staying in the nice older dorms. Each room has 2-4 beds available
with nearby private shower facilities. These rooms are not air-conditioned
and we suggest you bring a fan. The quality cafeteria facility provides
an all-you-can-eat salad bar with fresh fruit, hot entrees with beverage,
sandwich and cereal stations. Evening programs are held in the gorgeous
campus auditorium. Whitworth has five gyms available on campus with plenty
of floor space for games and training. Campers alternate being bussed
to nearby local gyms to provide maximum competition. Whitworth is located
seven miles north of downtown Spokane, Washington.
Roommates for this
site need to be requested before camp begins. If you have no preference

 About the Staff
We select outstanding
people we believe are of high integrity and character, work ethic and
willingness to pour their lives into helping athletes be their best. We
work hard to hire college players, college and high school coaches and
dynamic competent teachers of the game. All our coaches are hand selected, receive a criminal background check, and are evaluated by the campers and leadership staff. Our basketball curriculum is organized to the minute each day with detailed training manuals and DVDs for our Master Teacher coaches.

JIM HAYFORD
Jim Hayford, basketball coach at Whitworth University, oversees all the basketball instruction for our boys camps. We work hard to be the best at basketball instruction. NBC Camps designs a specific intensive program that has been honed for over 30 years. Coach Hayford works to insure the quality of instruction in each league.
SITE DIRECTOR
TRACY ELLIS-WARD
Tracy Ellis-Ward came on board with NBC Camps in July 2007, as the new Director of Women’s Basketball and Whitworth Site Director. Tracy brings a wealth of knowledge to her multiple roles with the organization, having been involved with basketball at every level as a player, coach, and administrator while employed at the NCAA, Michigan State University, and the Women’s National Basketball Association in New York City.
Tracy earned a bachelors degree at the University of Missouri where she was a former All-American in women’s basketball and served as team captain. Her basketball career includes many accolades cap stoned by two consecutive conference championship titles. Tracy ranks among the top producers in the Missouri Tiger record books in five career statistical categories, including points, rebounds, field goal percentage, and free throws attempted and made. She still stands 10th for point average per season (18.5) and seventh in field goal shooting percentage (.557). Her career highs include a 30 point offensive production versus the University of Colorado, and grabbing 22 rebounds against the University of Kansas her senior year. She was also named first team All-Big Eight her final year and was fortunate to experience NCAA postseason play two years during her career at Missouri
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Tracy obtained a Masters in Sports Administration from Ohio University. She has two wonderful children, Gabrielle (19) and Langston (13) and was married to the late Michael J. Ward.
