Calgary 2024 Basketball Day Camp

Airdrie Christian Academy will host NBC Basketball for kids ages 8-16, these camps feature a unique curriculum designed to help campers offensively, gain confidence through repetition and learning techniques to get to the hoop and finish the play with a basket. NBC Junior camps in Calgary have consistently been some of our most popular so we've added this new location 30 minutes from Calgary to make it easier for families to attend. NBC Camps focuses on training the total athlete with an emphasis on skill mastery, mental toughness, servant leadership, and personal faith. Camps combine Christian values with cutting-edge research on talent development, building confidence, and the importance of commitment. CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Complete Skills Junior Basketball Day Camp focuses on the crucial keys for young athletes to become excellent at the game of basketball. These camps are specifically designed for the younger athlete. The intensity, curriculum and schedule is much more conducive for a younger athlete and we highly recommend this camp as a starting point for the younger player before coming to an overnight camp. We break our teaching into four focus areas: Individual offense, defense, shooting and team skills. Campers are separated into teaching groups and teams based on their age and skill level.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name).
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.

HEALTH & RELEASE FORMS

All registered campers are required to have a parent or legal guardian fill out the mandatory Health & Release Forms before arrival at camp. This camp does NOT require a doctor's signature on the forms.

CAMP INFORMATION PACKET

A detailed Camp Information Packet containing check-in location and address, on-site staff contact information, a checklist of things to bring, site-specific forms, and more will be emailed to all registered campers prior to camp.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Unlike other camp programs where skills training falls under the expertise of the camp director, NBC Camps has built a program of training to help each camper walk out of camp a better player and person. Our site directors work as event managers helping to run a great week of camp and facilitating the implementation of our specific camp expectations.

Our basketball instruction is based on skill curriculum and talent development we believe are essential to take your game to the next level. Though coaching styles and drills may change, our master teachers receive resources, lesson plans, and detailed training on how to maximize the camp experience. Coaching at camp is much different than coaching a team. With 50 years of successful history, our goal is to give you the best basketball and life skills instruction possible.
