Washington 2024 Basketball Day Camp

NBC Complete Skills Basketball Day Camps will be held at Puget Sound Adventist Academy in Kirkland, WA. These camps are designed for beginner athletes, ages 8-12, who are passionate about basketball and are willing to work hard to learn the fundamentals. NBC coaches will help each camper gain a better understanding of the game and work on the important fundamentals and creating good habits. This camp will focus on dribbling, shooting, passing, rebounding and team play. NBC Camps focuses on training the total athlete with an emphasis on skill mastery, mental toughness, servant leadership, and personal faith. Camps combine Christian values with cutting-edge research on talent development, building confidence, and the importance of commitment. DAY CAMP INFORMATION

Daily Times for Day Camp and Clinics: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (first-day check-in is 8:30 am)
What to Bring: sack lunch (any snacks if necessary), a basketball labeled with name, a water bottle, and a completed medical release waiver.

CAMP DESCRIPTION

Complete Skills Junior Day Camps focus on the important keys for young athletes to learn the game of basketball. These camps are specifically designed for younger athletes who are newer to the game. The intensity, curriculum, and schedule are more conducive for younger players and we highly recommend these camps as a starting point before coming to an overnight camp or specialty day camp. We break our teaching into four focus areas: individual offense, defense, shooting, and team skills. Campers are separated into teaching groups based on their age and skill level. Some of these camps will have a greater emphasis on ball handling and/or shooting skills (see camp schedule for details).

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name). Visit our Camp Packing List for a full list of what to bring. NBC Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Bullying Policy- Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among students that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Three types of bullying include verbal, social, and physical. At NBC Camps, we will not tolerate bullying, and any reported incident will be investigated and taken seriously. Bullying behavior could result in immediate dismissal from camp.

International Travel Teams- NBC invites athletes ages 14-18 on international tours through the NBC Travel Teams program. 9:00 am Welcome and shoot around
9:15 am Warm ups and ball handling/dribbling work
10:00 am Fundamental skill training such as shooting, passing, rebounding, defense, and attacking the basket

1:15 pm Competitive work such as shooting games, small sided games, and scrimmage

Unlike other camp programs where skills training falls under the expertise of the camp director, NBC Camps has built a program of training to help each camper walk out of camp a better player and person. Our site directors work as event managers helping to run a great week of camp and facilitating the implementation of our specific camp expectations.

Our basketball instruction is based on skill curriculum and talent development we believe are essential to take your game to the next level. Though coaching styles and drills may change, our master teachers receive resources, lesson plans, and detailed training on how to maximize the camp experience. Coaching at camp is much different than coaching a team. With 50 years of successful history, our goal is to give you the best basketball and life skills instruction possible.
