NBC Basketball Camp will host a comprehensive basketball training camp in Henderson, NV at SLAM! For athletes who aspire to become a better basketball player and a better leader, NBC Basketball Camps have been a premiere leader in basketball training since 1971.

NBC Basketball Day Camps help student athletes improve their basketball fundamentals and overall understanding of the game. These camps will focus on dribbling, passing, defense, shooting techniques, basketball IQ, leadership, mental toughness and talent development. BASKETBALL DAY CAMP INFORMATION

Daily Times for Day Camp: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (first-day check-in is 8:30 am)

What to Bring: Campers should bring a sack lunch, basketball, water bottle, and completed medical release waiver (online).

Fundamental Skills Camp Focus:

Dribbling & Ball Handling – Build confidence and control with the basketball.
Passing & Teamwork – Learn how to create opportunities and support your team.
* Shooting Fundamentals – Develop proper shooting form and consistency.
* Footwork & Defense – Improve movement, positioning, and defensive skills.
* Game Awareness – Learn how to apply skills in real-game situations.

🏀 Ideal for players at all skill levels looking to build a strong basketball foundation!

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name). Visit our Camp Packing List for a full list of what to bring. NBC Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

International Travel Teams- NBC invites athletes ages 14-18 on international tours through the NBC Travel Teams program. Campers will learn about NBC tours at camp and can apply for one of our teams by contacting Travel Team Director Breanna Lyons at travelteams@nbccamps.com or visit http://www.nbccamps.com/international

Day Camp - Sample Schedule

9:00 am Welcome, warm up and shoot around
9:20 am Ball handling/dribbling stations
10:00 am Fundamental instruction in key skill areas such as shooting, attacking the basket, rebounding, passing and defense
12:00 pm Lunch break - bring a sack lunch
12:45 pm Leadership and life skills training and small group discussion
1;15 pm Competitive skill and drill work such as shooting games, small sided games, and live scrimmage
3:00 pm Spotlights and daily review, camper dismissal

Coach Mike Allen

Coach Mike Allen is a decorated former professional athlete and accomplished coach with nearly three decades of experience in basketball leadership. As a player, he achieved extraordinary success, earning 3x NBCAA All-American honors, 3x National Championships (1993, 1994, 1995), and an MVP title while scoring over 2,500 points and grabbing more than 700 rebounds during his collegiate career. His professional playing career spanned seven years, competing internationally across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Coach Allen has been featured in major publications such as Sports Illustrated, SportsStars Magazine, and the San Jose Mercury News for his impact on players and communities through basketball. As a coach, Mike Allen has dedicated his life to developing athletes on and off the court. He has served as a director for basketball programs partnering with the Golden State Warriors, Jr. NBA, and Jr. WNBA, impacting over 3000+ players annually. His leadership extends to high school, college, and semi-professional levels, earning accolades like Coast Conference Coach of the Year. He will be inducted into his HS Hall of Fame (May 18, 2025) Additionally, he has run elite AAU teams, NCAA-certified tournaments, and basketball camps under Mike Allen Sports, providing young athletes with opportunities to grow their skills and character. With his unparalleled expertise, passion, and commitment to mentorship, Coach Mike Allen inspires players and coaches to strive for greatness in basketball and life.
