NBC Basketball Day Camps at Esperero Canyon Middle School in Tucson, AZ provides skill training for athletes who are hoping to achieve their goals in basketball and life. Camp Director Matt Simpson and our talented NBC Camps coaches are dedicated to helping campers unlock their full potential. NBC Basketball in Tucson, AZ is a great opportunity for athletes to take a step in the direction of their basketball goals.


Complete Skills Jr. Basketball Day Camp
Dates: June 3-6. 2024 | Age Group: Boys and girls 8-12 years old

Complete Skills Basketball Day Camp
Dates: June 10-13. 2024 | Age Group: Boys and girls 11-14 years old

All necessary camp information is on this page. If there are any imperative changes before camp starts, registered campers will be notified via email and this webpage will be updated.


Daily Times for Day Camp: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (The Director will provide exact drop-off and pick-up times - first-day check-in is 8:45 am)

Campers will need to bring their lunch each day along with a water bottle and basketball.


Complete Skills Basketball Day Camp focuses on the crucial keys for young athletes to become excellent at the game of basketball. We break our teaching into four focus areas: Individual offense, defense, shooting, and team skills. Campers are separated into teaching groups and teams based on their age and ability. Complete Skills Camps emphasize basketball development, enthusiasm, leadership, and teamwork.

Complete Skills Junior Day Camps are the same complete player curriculum but for the younger or more beginner athlete.


Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name). Visit our Camp Packing List for a full list of what to bring. NBC Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.


Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Bullying Policy- Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among students that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Three types of bullying include verbal, social, and physical. At NBC Camps, we will not tolerate bullying, and any reported incident will be investigated and taken seriously. Bullying behavior could result in immediate dismissal from camp.

International Travel Teams- NBC invites athletes ages 14-18 on international tours through the NBC Travel Teams program. Campers will learn about NBC tours at camp and can apply for one of our teams by contacting Travel Team Director Breanna Lyons at travelteams@nbccamps.com or visit http://www.nbccamps.com/international


NBC Basketball offers six 30–45-minute online courses to help you get ready for camp and remember your training after camp. Become a strong player all year long. Add it when you register or click here to add after your registration.

Day Camp Sample Schedule
  • 9:00am Welcome and warm up
  • 9:20am AM Session: Shooting, Dribbling, Effective Passing, Defense Intensity Drills (drills designed for age appropriate skill levels)
  • 12:00pm Lunch - Bring Sack Lunch
  • 12:45pm Afternoon Program with NBC Theme and Leadership Training
  • 1:30 pm PM Session: Group Drills, Competitive Games, and Scrimmage
  • 3:00pm Spotlights and daily review

    NBC Director Matt Simpson has over 14 years of basketball coaching experience; seven as a high school coach. He has coached five state tournament qualifying teams, received two coach of the year awards, coached two current division 1 players, and many other small college athletes.
