Coach Mendez is currently in his second year at Simpson University where he has helped transform a team from a 1-10 season during COVID to back-to-back play off appearances.

Coach Mendez has experience in many levels including coaching professionally in Mexico for 2 seasons. His past coaching resume includes: coaching 11 seasons in the NAIA and 2 seasons in the Junior College level. Included in his experience, is 4 seasons as a High School coach where he led his team to 3 straight CIF championship games in San Diego where he helped lead the team to the 2007 Division 2 Championship.
