2026 Calgary Basketball Summer Camps

NBC Basketball Camps will host three weeks of comprehensive basketball skills training camps at Menno Simons Christian School in Calgary, Alberta. Conveniently located for families in Calgary, Okotoks, DeWinton, and High River, these basketball camps offer a supportive environment where young athletes can thrive.

NBC Basketball staff will conduct three different training sessions. The first week will be a complete skills camp for boys and girls ages 10-14. This camp is the standard day camp model for NBC Basketball which have been running camps in the Calgary area for over forty years. Campers will enjoy mastering essential skills like passing, shooting, dribbling, and teamwork—all while having fun.

The second week will be a junior version of the complete skills camp for younger athletes ages 7-10.

The final week is a shooting focus camp dedicated to basketball's most difficult and important skill for boys and girls ages 10-14.

DAY CAMP INFORMATION

Daily Times: 10am to 3pm (first day check-in is 8:30am)

CAMP DESCRIPTION

Complete Skills Day Camp: These camps offer comprehensive skill training, motivation and leadership training and NBC's intensity station within a 9am-3pm time frame. These day camps are a perfect introduction for athletes into the NBC Camp program and offer a taste of NBC excellence at a pace and intensity more suitable for younger or more beginning athletes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name).
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.

HEALTH & RELEASE FORMS

All registered campers are required to have a parent or legal guardian fill out the mandatory Health & Release Forms before arrival at camp. This camp does NOT require a doctor's signature on the forms.

CAMP INFORMATION PACKET

A detailed Camp Information Packet containing check-in location and address, on-site staff contact information, a checklist of things to bring, site-specific forms, and more will be emailed to all registered campers prior to camp.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

DAY CAMP - SAMPLE SCHEDULE

9:00am Welcome and warm up
9:20am AM Session: Shooting, Dribbling, Effective Passing, Defense Intensity Drills (drills designed for age appropriate)
12:00pm Lunch - bring a sack lunch
12:45pm PM Session: Afternoon Program with NBC Theme, leadership training, and discussion groups
1:30pm Competitions and games such as small sided games, shooting games, and live scrimmage
3:00pm Spotlights, daily review and camper pick up

Immediately impressed

This year was my daughter's first time at an NBC Camp. She was invited by a friend and didn't really know what to expect. The basketball was intense and probably a little more than she was prepared for, but she learned a lot and had lots of fun too. She said she would absolutely attend another camp, given the chance. I was immediately impressed with the enthusiasm and attitude of the staff, from the moment we walked through the door, and that remained a constant throughout the week. Every single staff member made an impression on my daughter - so much so that she insisted that all of them be the only ones to sign her tshirt at the end of camp! Amazing skills, amazing heart for children - thank you to all!

Favorite Camp

I have three daughters, 15 years, 13 years, 10 years. All three have attended various sport camps(soccer, basketball & volleyball). This year they all had to pick one camp, and all three picked NBC as their favorite. So I drove one daughter 8 hours to her volleyball camp, One daughter 3 hours away to her basketball camp and my 10 year old had her soccer and basketball camp in our city(yeah!) We picked NBC for its skilled coaches, level of play and over all feel of camp. I would strongly recommend NBC to anyone who is considering it as a camp. We have done volleyball, basketball and soccer, and loved each one!

Want to return!

I learned combo dribbling, power layups, 2 foot jump stop, pound dribble and shooting formations. I want to return next year because I learned and had fun in this camp.
