Welcome to Varsity Academy, a division of NBC Camps since 1999.

Varsity Academy offers basketball training programs in Spokane, Washington to help you improve during the Fall and Spring seasons. VA Spring Competitive Scrimmage League is for high school varsity level boys ages 15-18.

COMPETITIVE SCRIMMAGE LEAGUE DATES & DETAILS

Five gym times of organized, supervised scrimmage. Teams are formed each night to ensure competitive balance, as well as challenge athletes to play with and against a variety of different types of players. LIMITED TO FIRST 15 VARSITY LEVEL PLAYERS to enroll.

This program will not include specific drill and skill work but rather general feedback based on game play. Games will be lightly officiated.

This camp will take place at Shoot360 Spokane on Francis.

Varsity Academy Spokane will host the VA Fall Competitive Scrimmages at Shoot360 Spokane.

GENDER AND AGES: Boys only - current or incoming High School Varsity players 15-18 years old.

Camp Director John Fazio

John has been involved with NBC Camps for more than 20 years and now serves as the Vice President. In addition to camps and clinics, he has 15+ years of experience conducting individual basketball training and has coached AAU, YMCA, grade school, high school tournament teams, three international travel teams (Italy 2006, UK 2013, Germany 2022), and college club basketball teams.

He has been USA Youth Basketball Gold Licensed since 2016. Coach "Faz" coached the Whitworth University Men's Club Team to regional championships in 2017 (Eugene, OR) and 2020 (Cheney, WA). He spearheaded the development of virtual training programs for NBC Camps and US Sports/Nike Camps during 2020-2021. He is also a certified basketball official. Prior to joining NBC Camps, John earned a degree in communications from Central Washington University and worked as a television sports anchor at KVEW News in Kennewick, WA. He is married, has three children and lives in Spokane.
Camp Director Garrett Williams

Garrett Williams has been a Lead Coach with NBC Camps for over ten years and now directs EOU and NNU overnight basketball camps. He is a camper favorite and a fantastic teacher of the game.

Coach Garrett started playing college basketball at Northwest Nazarene University where he was introduced to NBC Camps. Since then, he has devoted his summers working camps around the world. Garrett finished his college basketball career at Multnomah University in Portland, OR. He connects with campers with his kindness and passion for life and the game of basketball. He inspires campers to believe in themselves and to get better. Garrett has coached and directed camps in Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and overseas. He currently works as Elementary Director at Life Center Church in Spokane.
