About Kelsee
Kelsee Montagna is the head coach of the Fresno Pacific University women’s volleyball program, where she leads the Sunbirds with a player-centered approach and a commitment to competitive excellence. Appointed in February 2024 as the eighth head coach in program history, Montagna quickly elevated both the performance and culture of the program, bringing energy, integrity, and a passion for developing athletes on and off the court.
Under her leadership, the 2025 Sunbirds achieved a historic 27–2 overall record, captured both the PacWest regular-season and tournament championships, and climbed into the national rankings—finishing tenth in the nation in a milestone season for FPU volleyball in the NCAA era. Montagna’s emphasis on character, resilience, and unity defined the year, as her team displayed consistency, competitive grit, and a culture rooted in teamwork and faith.
A native of Madera, California, Montagna brings a diverse coaching background that includes club leadership and collegiate experience. She has served as director of the Valley Volleyball Academy, and held coaching roles in both indoor and beach volleyball at the collegiate level before taking the helm at Fresno Pacific.
Coach Montagna emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and personal growth, making her camps impactful for athletes seeking to strengthen their fundamentals, expand their tactical understanding, and grow in confidence and competitive mindset.
