BASKETBALL DAY CAMP INFORMATION

Daily Times for Day Camp: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (Director will provide exact drop-off and pick-up times - first-day check-in is 8:45am)

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Complete Skills Basketball Day Camp focuses on the crucial keys for athletes to become excellent at the game of basketball. The intensity, curriculum and schedule is suited for athletes who want to take what they know and improve it to take their game to the next level. We break our teaching into four focus areas: Individual offense, defense, shooting and team skills. Campers are separated into teaching groups and teams based on their age and ability.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & OTHER

Ratio: approximately a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, skill, and experience.
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own athletic equipment and have at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball (court) shoes. Campers do need to bring their own basketball (clearly labeled with their name). Visit our Camp Packing List for a full list of what to bring. NBC Camps is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items.
Allergies/Dietary Restrictions/Medical Concerns: please include this on your registration so campus staff and camp staff can be prepared for your camper's arrival.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

International Travel Teams- NBC invites athletes ages 14-18 on international tours through the NBC Travel Teams program. Campers will learn about NBC tours at camp and can apply for one of our teams by contacting Travel Team Director Breanna Lyons at travelteams@nbccamps.com or visit http://www.nbccamps.com/international

Day Camp Sample Schedule
  • 9:00 am Welcome and warm up
  • 9:20 am Ball handling and dribbling stations
  • 10:00 am Skill work such as shooting, footwork, attacking the basket, finishing, rebounding, defense, and/or passing
  • 12:00 pm Lunch break
  • 12:45 pm Leadership training and discussion
  • 1:15 pm Competitive work such as shooting games, small-sided games, scrimmage
  • 3:00 pm Spotlights and daily review

  • John Isakson

    Camp Director John Isakson

    JC Isakson is the Head Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Providence. He has been coaching for 13 years, 11 years at the collegiate level, three of which as a Head Coach. In his coaching career he has recruited and developed eight players that have signed professional contracts, 10 All-Americans, and 24 All-Conference Award winners. The Montana native played college basketball at the University of Montana Western. He resides in Great Falls, MT with his wife Baylie, daughter Blayklinn, and twin sons, Clay & Crue.
