1 What International programs are offered by NBC Camps?
Please visit our International Camps page for more information.
2 Do you have to be a prior NBC camper to be selected for an International Travel Team?
No. We have a Confidential Form and we need two of these to be completed; one by your coach and the other a pastor or teacher. We read every bit of these forms and if we have any questions we immediately call the coach or pastor/teacher. We need the athletic form completed by the athlete that includes a section for parents, who are requested to write a one page letter telling NBC that they support their child participating in this adventure and their thoughts on how he/she will handle a trip such as this.
3 How old do I have to be to go on tour?
The ages range from 14 - 19; however, it is tour specific. Please see the International Camps page for more information or contact us.
4 How would I get more information on travel teams?

5 How do I register to go on a travel team tour?

6 What does the tuition include?
Each tour is different; however, tuition generally includes:
- International team airfare
- Training camp
- Lodging
- 3 meals a day
- Sightseeing activities
- Ground transportation
- Sweat-suit
- Shorts
- T-shirt
- Jersey
- Backpack
- Bible
- Daily journal
7 How many coaches go on tour?
The coach athlete ratio is 10 athletes – 2 coaches/staff. Once the tour lands in their designated country, they are met by a guide and tour bus. That guide speaks the language and travels with the tour the entire time. These coaches are NBC coaches or very well known by our NBC Central Office.
8 What is the cancellation policy?
It is $1,000 deposit that is non-refundable after February 1st. Then we have payments set up in segments. After February 1st no refunds. The goal is for you to have the tour fee completely paid by May 15th. We strongly encourage you to purchase cancellation insurance. We are purchasing the airline tickets that are non-refundable and putting deposits on the hotels/hostels early in the process. These are not refundable. The insurance needs to be purchased once we accept the athlete on the tour and deposit their first payment. We give detailed information on this insurance in the tour manual that is sent to the athlete and family once the deposit is accepted and the young person’s name is on the team roster.
9 What religious teaching is part of a tour?
NBC Camps/Tours is nondenominational. It is our goal to teach fundamentals of the sport and to help the athlete have confidence in himself/herself so that they can go out on the court and be successful. It is also our goal to help these young people be successful in the game of life. We teach fundamentals of life – the basics – which are found in the bible. We teach respect of oneself and others along with no drinking of alcohol, no drugs, no sex before marriage. Many religions are represented on the tours. The tour members all receive the same paperback NIV Bible and a journal. Travel Team members have team meetings where they discuss life issues such as decision making, leadership, confidence, and personal faith.
10 Does my child have to be responsible for his/her money and passport?
No, the coach is not only a coach, but the tour members personal banker. The first hour of training the tour members meet the coaching staff one on one and give the coaches their passports and spending money. We would suggest they bring between $750 and $1000 spending money. Of course, we have some athletes who do not spend any money, and then there are others who need more money management so as not to spend it all in the first city.
11 Where does the tour end?
The travel team members fly out of Seattle, Washington, and then return to SeaTac or travel team members fly out of Calgary and then return to Calgary. Travel teams fly back to the same airport they flew out of at the beginning of the tour. NBC Coaches cannot assist student-athletes in connecting to flights after the travel team has concluded in Seattle.
12 Is there a deadline to sign up for tours?
Yes, please contact Breanna to find out about deadlines. blyons@nbccamps.com
